MARIA STEBELSKY M.Ed

Maria StebelskyMaria Stebelsky has obtained Bachelor Degrees in Arts from both the University of Toronto (English) and York University (Honours Psychology), a Master of Education Degree from the University of Toronto (Applied Psychology) and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from York University. Her professional development work has included studies in Experiential Training Methodology, Consulting Skills, Managing Change in Organizations, and Intercultural Training Techniques.

As a certified trainer for programs in Negotiation Skills, Management and related fields, MS Stebelsky has delivered hundreds of workshops, seminars and lectures to groups varying in size from 6 to 600 participants. She has been a Consultant on matter of Conflict Management to the Ontario Government in a number of contexts, most notably in connection with Nursing Homes, Occupational Health and Safety Act administration, and the restructuring of the Management Compensation System. She established her own Management Consulting firm, Maria Stebelsky & Associates Inc.

As an agent of the World Council of Ukrainian Social Services, Ms Stebelsky has contributed, and continues to contribute, to the development of Social Services of Ukraine, a non-governmental organization which has grown to 70 branches in the Ukraine. This effort has involved a number of ongoing projects for which she has had an organizational and developmental responsibility, with the assistance of Canadian and international agencies.

Ms Stebelsky is on the Advisory Board of The Mediation Centre of Southeastern Ontario, and is an Instructor in its educational offerings.

Most recently, Ms Steblesky served as Regional Mediator for the Correctional Service of Canada. Newly retired, she is devoting much of her time to assisting with community programs in Kingston.
